Leadership – John Kamara
John Kamara, a resilient survivor of war-torn Sierra Leone, has been building a new life in Tasmania since 2004.
John is dedicated to supporting migrants and refugees, addressing challenges such as racism and labor exploitation. Actively involved in multiple boards and community groups, he provides practical assistance with resume building, job searches, and housing.
As the co-founder of the Culturally Diverse Alliance of Tasmania and a key player in establishing the African Communities Council of Tasmania, John works to foster education and social cohesion.
Alongside his wife, Mavis, he founded Kamara’s Heart Foundation, a charitable organization aiding children in Sierra Leone. Through his unwavering commitment, John Kamara continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those he serves.
